REMCAM Automotive Ltd (“REMCAM”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller for personal data collected through this website (www.remcam.co.uk) and through enquiries made to us by phone or email.

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how long we keep it and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
The data we collect
Enquiries and part requests
When you use the Request a Part form, the contact form, or contact us by phone or email, we collect the information you give us. Depending on the form this may include:
- your name, company name, telephone number and email address;
- vehicle details — registration number, VIN, make, model and year;
- details of the part, repair or service you need, including any part numbers, estimates and descriptions;
- photographs or documents you upload (for example, photographs of a part, a VIN plate or an estimate);
- the content of your message and our correspondence with you.
Vehicle registration numbers and VINs identify a vehicle, not a person; where they can be linked to an individual (for example a private owner whose vehicle your business is repairing) we treat them as personal data. Please do not upload documents containing personal data that is not needed for the enquiry.
Website use
- Analytics (only with your consent). If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 collects information about how you use the site — pages viewed, approximate location derived from a truncated IP address, device and browser type, and interactions such as button clicks and form submissions. We use IP anonymisation. See our cookie policy.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records technical information about requests to the site (IP address, browser, pages requested, timestamps) for security and to keep the site running.
- Anti-spam checks. Our forms record the time the form was loaded and the IP address of the submission to detect automated spam. These are not used for any other purpose.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell it. We do not send marketing emails unless you have asked us to.
Who we share data with
We share personal data only where necessary to deal with your enquiry and run the website:
- Suppliers and contacts in our sourcing network — when we search for a part we share the vehicle and part details needed to identify it. We do not share your contact details with suppliers unless you ask us to.
- Delivery and recovery providers — the delivery address and contact details needed to deliver a part or move a vehicle.
- Service providers that process data on our behalf — our website hosting provider (Vercel), our email service (Microsoft 365 / Microsoft Azure, through which form submissions are delivered to our mailbox), and, if you consent, Google (Google Analytics). Each is bound by a data-processing agreement.
- Professional advisers and authorities — where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States and the European Economic Area. Where they do, transfers are protected by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, UK adequacy regulations or another safeguard recognised under UK GDPR.
How long we keep data
We keep enquiry and part-request correspondence for as long as necessary to deal with the enquiry and any resulting order, and afterwards for as long as we need it to maintain our business records and meet legal, accounting and tax obligations, or to deal with any dispute. Uploaded photographs and documents are held in the enquiry email and deleted with it. Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics according to the retention setting on our account. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period for security purposes.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you (access);
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data (rectification);
- ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances (erasure);
- ask us to restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- receive the data you gave us in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent (for example, analytics cookies).
To exercise any of these rights, email sales@remcamautomotive.co.uk or write to us at our registered office. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within one month, or tell you if we need longer.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk, telephone 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to resolve any concern first.
Security
This website is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are sent to our mailbox through an authenticated email service and are not stored on the website itself. We restrict access to enquiry data to the people who need it to deal with your enquiry.
Cookies
We use one optional analytics cookie set (Google Analytics) and no advertising cookies. Your cookie choice is stored in your browser. Full details, including how to change your choice, are in our cookie policy.
Links to other sites
This site links to external websites (for example GOV.UK and Companies House). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
