Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions trade customers ask before they send a request. If yours isn't here, call or email and we'll answer it directly.

Who we work with

Who does REMCAM supply?

Trade customers only: garages, bodyshops and accident repair centres, restoration specialists, classic and prestige vehicle specialists, fleet workshops and other automotive professionals across the UK.

Can a private car owner request a part?

Not directly. REMCAM is trade only. Ask your garage, bodyshop or restorer to send us the request — they can use the Request a Part form on your behalf.

Do I need an account to make a request?

No. Send a request through the form, by email or by phone. There is no minimum order and no account set-up required for a first enquiry.

Where is REMCAM based?

REMCAM Automotive Ltd is registered at 20 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU (Company No. 16760599) and works with trade customers across the United Kingdom. The registered office is not a trade counter.

Requesting a part

What information do you need to find a part?

The vehicle registration or VIN, a description of the part and, if you have them, the part number, an estimate line or diagram reference, and a photograph. You do not need the part number — see our guide on finding parts by VIN or registration.

Can I send photos from my phone?

Yes. The Request a Part form accepts JPG, PNG and PDF files and lets you take a photo directly on a phone. Photos are resized before sending.

What happens after I send a request?

We identify the exact manufacturer part number for your vehicle, search our network of specialist suppliers and automotive contacts in the UK and internationally, and come back with availability, price and lead time for the specific source. Nothing is ordered until you approve it.

How long does a search take?

It depends on the part and where it is. We do not promise a fixed turnaround; we give you a lead time for the specific source when we quote, and we tell you clearly if a part cannot be found.

Do you provide a price before I commit?

Yes. You receive availability, price and lead time for the specific source before anything is ordered.

Parts and sourcing

Are the parts you source genuine?

We source genuine manufacturer parts — manufacturer part number, manufacturer packaging, supplied through manufacturer parts networks in whichever market they are available. If a request can only be met by another category of part, we describe it as exactly that before you order. See genuine OEM parts.

What is the difference between genuine, OEM and aftermarket parts?

Genuine parts come through the vehicle manufacturer's network with its number and packaging; OEM/OES parts are made by the manufacturer's supplier and sold under the supplier's brand; aftermarket parts are made by third parties to their own specification. Our guide genuine vs OEM vs aftermarket parts explains the differences.

Can you find parts that are on back order?

Often, yes. A UK back order is a UK-warehouse problem; the same genuine part number is frequently in stock in another market. We check and quote from the real source. Some back orders are global and cannot be beaten — we tell you when that is the case. See back-ordered parts.

Can you find discontinued or NLA parts?

We trace supersessions, check other markets, manufacturer heritage programmes, genuine new-old stock and — if you tell us it is acceptable — used genuine parts. If nothing original survives, we say so and discuss remanufacture. See obsolete and discontinued parts.

Do you source parts for classic and prestige vehicles?
Are you affiliated with any vehicle manufacturer?

No. REMCAM Automotive Ltd is an independent parts-sourcing specialist and is not affiliated with, approved by or an authorised agent of any vehicle manufacturer. Manufacturer names are used only to identify vehicles.

Do you deliver across the UK and internationally?

We deliver across the UK and can arrange international delivery where a job requires it. Delivery is arranged per part, according to where the part is coming from, and quoted with a lead time for that source.

Other services

What are manufacturer repair methods and can you supply them?

The manufacturer's documented procedure for a specific repair on a specific vehicle — sectioning points, joining methods, materials and related system requirements. We source manufacturer repair information from the registration, VIN, make, model and year. See repair methods.

Do you provide courtesy or hire vehicles?

Yes, to garages and bodyshops for their customers' use during a repair. Terms are confirmed per hire. See courtesy and hire vehicles.

Do you offer vehicle recovery?

We arrange specialist recovery for trade customers — accident-damaged, non-driveable, prestige and classic vehicles. See specialist vehicle recovery.

Which other services do you currently offer?

Vehicle graphics, ADAS-related support and wheel alignment, workshop equipment servicing, testing and calibration, and wheels and tyres — all for trade customers. See other services.

Can't find the part? Let us find it.

Send us the registration, VIN or part number and we'll search our sourcing network.
